Two of the edging stones of lock 39E on the Huddersfield Narrow Canal in Marsden, West Yorkshire.
The two stones are linked by a rusted iron tie-rod, and the waters of the canal flow, eventually,
via the rivers Calder and then the Aire, into the distant Humber Estuary and a patient North Sea.
